Buttermilk Scones

I love scones

I do have 2 other recipes posted here but this one is super quick to make up.

My kids love this one and you can change it up.

2 c. flour
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
8 tbsp. (1 stick) butter
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 egg ( i have made this without the egg, totally forgot, still came out great)
~preheat oven to 425*
~spray pie pan (mine are glass) with pam
~place all ingredients in a medium bowl
~mix well with hand, take about 2 mins
~it will be a slightly sticky dough ball, but that is fine,
take ball and put into pie pan, flatten out slightly
~I precut slices with a knife, it just makes it easier to cut after its cooked
~bake 10-12 mins until a light golden brown
I also like to make a batch with mini chocolate chips (1/4 cup)
You can add apples, cinnamon, raisins, currants, nutmeg, etc.
This make super yummy breakfast, just top with butter, jam, creamed honey, or my son’s favorite peanut butter.
